This project installs directional, instructional, and trail rules signs at trailhead entrances and other strategic locations along the trail. Signs will help to relieve some of the confusion that Trail users experience daily as they navigate the trail system and alert trail users to new rules that comply with the new federal laws regarding prohibited vehicles. Signs will be installed at the various trailhead entrances, strategic locations along the trail and on the one-way streets that also comprise the McKeesport section of the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) and the McKeesport-Versailles Loop. This project will be accomplished through 100% of volunteer efforts because the professional costs of signage design and installation are cost prohibitive. The grant from the Trail Volunteer Fund supports purchase of signs and related hardware to be designed and installed by volunteers on the trails between Boston and McKeesport. Grant awarded September 2011 |
